Ms. Aikerson graduated from Jess Lanier High School in 2000. She attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama were she received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Ms. Aikerson continued her educational journey and received an Education Specialist Degree from the University of Montevallo in 2011. 

Ms. Aikerson began her career as a teacher at Greenwood Elementary in 2003 when she did her student internship for her degree in Elementary Education. Her cooperating teachers were Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Feagin.  The following school year (2004-2005) she received a chance of a lifetime to teach her very own group of intelligent students at Greenwood.  

Ms. Andrea Aikerson is a product of the Bessemer City School System. She attended Abrams, Davis, and Jess Lanier High School. She has two children Anderson and Amayah. She grew up in a home full of educators and was destined to become a teacher.
